About the Role
Reporting into our Senior Accountant and working closely with our Director of Finance & Operations, this role will be a mixture of owning the end-to-end payroll procedures for our global workforce and entry of financial transactions.
This is a permanent position and we are open to either full time, part time 4 days per week or * days per fortnight. It is an in office role based in Hutt street, Adelaide.
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial
Fortnightly processing of Australian, UK, & US accounts payable
Invoicing and accounts receivable
Preparation of Australian fortnightly payroll using Xero (approx. 120 employees)
Submission of Australian super reporting obligations and payment
Review of US (twice monthly) and UK (monthly) payroll using Xero & Gusto (approx. 35 global employees)
Preparation of Australian bank reconciliations
Reporting & Operations
Preparation of monthly BAS
Preparation of payroll tax returns (SA, ACT, NSW, Vic)
Preparation of adhoc reports on payroll, KPIs, budget holder, accounts payable, etc.
Preparation of leave reporting for HR
Assistance to staff with payroll and finance queries
Management of the accounts internal mailbox and response to enquiries
Management of accounts payable software (Zahara), establishing vendor set-ups and delegations
Assistance to accountant with stakeholder reporting, grant applications, preparation of FBT return and audit requirements
Assistance to accountant in month end tasks
Assistance with process improvement implementations
ESOP letters & Investor Packs
ABS Surveys
Skills and experience
Australian citizenship
Well-developed IT skills in Excel
Certificates, degree or other qualifications in accounting or finance (desirable)
Ability to problem-solve, suggest improvements and work as part of a team
Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and organisation
Willingness to learn and be challenged
Any experience in the below areas makes for a strong application:
Bookkeeping
Entry level finance or accounting roles
Australian payroll management (ideally in Xero)
