Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support our Accounting Operations team on a 7 month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and structured environment, with exposure to a broad range of accounting activities within a dynamic automotive finance setting
About the Role
Reporting to the Accounting Operations Manager, you will play a key role in managing end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards, and driving continuous improvement across financial operations.
What you'll do
Manage and facilitate accounting processes, including journals, revenue recognition, lease accounting, accruals, and provisions
Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving variances
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Maintain the fixed assets register and related reconciliations
Provide technical accounting support across loans, leases, and finance products
Oversee daily accounting operations across retail, wholesale, and fleet functions
Monitor and review payments, invoices, and dealer transactions
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards
Assist with internal and external audits
Support financial reporting and ad hoc projects
What you'll bring
Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
Progressing towards CA or CPA qualification
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Previous experience in automotive finance or financial services (preferred)
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Confident communicator with the ability to support and guide team members
