About the Role
We’re looking for a Financial Analyst (fluent Japanese speaker) to join our Budget & Reporting team, supporting the delivery of high-quality financial insights across Australia, New Zealand and Canon Inc in Tokyo.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in turning complex financial data into clear, meaningful insights that support decision-making at senior leadership level. You’ll be closely involved in budgeting and forecasting cycles, regular management reporting, and Japan-facing financial communication, providing exposure to both local and global stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
Analysing financial data to identify trends, variances and opportunities to improve business performance
Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and insightful commentary
Preparing regular management reports, presentations and written commentary for senior leaders and Canon Inc in Japan
Building and maintaining financial models to support strategic and operational decision-making
Partnering with stakeholders across the business to translate complex financial information into actionable recommendations
Supporting compliance, risk management and audit requirements
Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance reporting quality, accuracy and efficiency
About You
You’re a detail-oriented Financial Analyst who enjoys working with data and partnering with stakeholders to drive better commercial outcomes. You’re confident working across cultures and time zones, with a strong understanding of Japanese business practices and ways of working.
You bring a balance of strong technical capability and clear, professional communication.
You’ll bring:
Proven experience in financial analysis and P&L management
Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Access skills beneficial)
The ability to interpret complex financial information and provide clear, practical recommendations
Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with senior leaders
Fluent Japanese and English (written and verbal), with experience working with Japanese organisations
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business (CA/CPA desirable)
