Job Scope
We are seeking a skilled Senior Financial Controller to manage and oversee the company’s financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, handling complex financial transactions, and supporting the preparation of financial statements. You will also provide guidance to junior finance team members and assist in risk management and internal controls.
Main Responsibilities
Oversee the accurate processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Prepare and maintain financial records, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support business decision-making.
Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including preparing and filing tax returns and coordinating with external auditors.
Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information for reporting and analysis.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and company policies..
Skills and requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
Oversee the accurate processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in financial reporting and payroll processing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend effective solutions.
Fluency in both French and English is required.
Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) is an asset.
