Job Description

The Financial Editor is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness.There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:
Writing/editing in a Fast-paced, Deadline-driven Environment
Work closely with stakeholders to develop and manage a steady stream of newsworthy and influential content for multiple platforms and channels.
Collaborate with marketing teams and partner communities to define a strategic agenda of content topics.
Collaborate with editorial teams and marketing teams more broadly to create content that can be placed on top-tier blogs and in top-tier publications.
Create highly differentiated interactive and visual content that travels well in social media, garners attention from main stream media, and drives overall engagement; must have a strong ability and desire to create high impact content for charts, info-graphics, videos, podcasts.
Work closely and creatively with thought leaders, marketing colleagues, design department and IT to package ideas in new and innovative ways.
Maintain awareness of blog/PR performance to ensure content resonates with the targeted audience and has potential for broad distribution.
Support high profile surveys and other research efforts.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
6-10 years of experience as a writer or editor at a financial or business publication or web site
Strong track record creating influential content ranging from blogs to long-form articles
Knowledgeable about multiple industries and geographies
A keen understanding of data visualization techniques, info-graphics, videos, and podcasts
Proven ability to work with designers, photographers, and videographers
Excellent writing and editing abilities; able to write creative and compelling pieces with strong, rational arguments; Must be able to take the lead in developing publishable work from initial draft through the final stages of fact-checking and copy-editing, on tight deadlines.
Expertise in crafting engaging content across multiple formats, in particular infographics and digital interactive content
Adept in leveraging social media for engagement, deepening relationships with influencers, and expanding readership of key content
Education:
Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
