The Fireplace & Chimney Authority Story
Since 1992, we’ve been offering our Chicago area customers the very best in personalized service and outstanding workmanship. Our story began in the mid-nineties when two business partners decided to open their own chimney company to serve their local area. The business originally offered services like repairs, cleanings, and inspections with the goal of adding value and longevity to their customers homes. After listening to the unique needs of local homeowners over the years, our founders noticed a need to extend their offerings to include fireplaces and outdoor living items. Other stores at the time were not customer friendly, clean, or modern. This problem sparked the idea for Fireplace and Chimney Authority as we experience it today. Today our two locations are not only the most customer centric in the industry, our unwavering commitment to offering an ultra-extensive experience is second to none. Our knowledgeable team of industry experts takes every customer from the beginning design stages to purchase and installation with confidence and ease. However, our value does not end after purchase. We appreciate every customer and strive to maintain integral lasting relationships. As a result, our clients feel comfortable calling our trusted team for annual inspections and maintenance for years to come.

We are looking for motivated and reliable people to join our "family". Are you looking to start a career? Can you perform physical labor safely and efficiently? Does creating long term relationships with your customers sound interesting?
Then consider joining our team as a Chimney Sweep Apprentice!
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Cleaning and preparation of work vehicles
• Mixing mortar, organizing tools, prepping and breaking down job-sites
• Lifting and moving brick and stone
• Setting up and using ladders, scaffolding, and safety equipment
• Working on ground, ladders, roofs of varying height and pitch, and scaffolding
• Assisting chimney sweep division and fireplace installation division, as needed
• Work closely with certified chimney sweeps and train on the job.
• Train and study for chimney sweep certification exam, and eventually pull your own route!
Qualified candidates should:
• Be 18 years of age or older. (required)
• Be comfortable working at heights
• Be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Have consistent attendance.
• Be able to pass a background check.
• Have strong people skills.
• Be prompt, timely, and have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Have a strong value for work safely.
• Must have a valid IL drivers license.
