Type: Part-time (25–30 hours/week), with opportunity to grow into full-time

Position Overview
The Program Associate supports the planning and delivery of Star Farm’s community programming, with a focus on food, nutrition, and culturally relevant culinary experiences. This role is hands-on and people-centered, working across the farm, Fresh Market, Shared Kitchen and Community Dining Room and partner sites to facilitate workshops, engage diverse audiences, and bring programs to life.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support & Facilitation
• Assist in planning and implementing programs including cooking demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and educational activities
• Support programming at the Fresh Market, farm site, and partner locations
• Help lead and facilitate workshops with participants of all ages, including children, youth, and seniors
• Prepare materials, ingredients, and supplies for program activities
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment for participants
• Assist with setup, breakdown, and coordination of events and workshops
• Support occasional pop-up markets and special events
• Track participation and assist with basic program documentation
Qualifications
• Background in nutrition, public health, food systems, or a related field
• Experience in hospitality, community engagement, or customer-facing roles
• Teaching, facilitation, or youth development experience preferred
• Spanish language proficiency preferred
• Comfortable working with diverse groups including children, youth, and seniors
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in dynamic environments
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for program-related activities (e.g., transporting supplies, supporting off-site workshops and events)
Compensation & Growth
• $22/hour
• 25–30 hours per week

Physical Requirements
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
