Hungry Zus is looking for someone to join our dynamic team as a Food Counter Attendant and become the friendly face that delivers exceptional food service in a fast-paced, quick service environment. You will be responsible for preparing and serving delicious food items, managing customer transactions with efficiency, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming dining area. Duties
Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling.
Take customer orders with enthusiasm, upsell menu items to increase sales, and provide friendly service to all guests.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, dining areas, and food handling equipment in compliance with food safety regulations.
Manage food inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and assist with food bussing to keep the area tidy.
Handle cash transactions efficiently, perform basic math calculations for change, and ensure accurate cash register balancing at shift end.
Support kitchen staff with food preparation tasks when necessary, demonstrating culinary experience and teamwork.
Qualifications
Previous experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or retail environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is an advantage.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with guests.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
Basic math skills for cash handling, sales transactions, and inventory management.
Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
Experience working in a café, grocery store, or restaurant environment is highly desirable.
