Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive financial investigations to identify fraud, embezzlement, money laundering, and other financial misconduct. Analyze complex financial records, including accounting ledgers, bank statements, invoices, and other supporting documentation. Trace financial transactions and identify patterns indicative of fraudulent activity. Quantify financial losses resulting from fraudulent activities and develop models to assess damages. Prepare detailed and objective forensic accounting reports, clearly presenting findings and evidence. Assist legal counsel in the preparation of litigation strategies and provide expert witness testimony in court proceedings. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and internal audit teams. Develop and implement internal control recommendations to prevent future fraud and financial irregularities. Conduct due diligence investigations for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions. Stay updated on the latest trends, techniques, and legal precedents in forensic accounting and fraud detection. Utilize specialized forensic accounting software and data analytics tools.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or equivalent are mandatory. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in forensic accounting, auditing, or financial investigations. Proven experience in conducting fraud investigations and quantifying financial losses. Strong knowledge of accounting standards, auditing principles, and legal frameworks related to financial crime. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Proficiency in data analysis and forensic accounting software. Exceptional report writing and presentation skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with utmost discretion. Strong ethical standards and professional skepticism.
