Position Summary
USI Audit & Assurance – Forensic Audit - Audit Senior Assistant
Work you’ll do
The individuals would work closely with senior members of the Fraud Specialist team, the Office of General Counsel, the Fraud Audit Methodology team, and other senior members of the Fraud Risk Center.Additionally, the individuals will interact and support USI Forensic resources, work closely with our audit teams to deliver on FAA and IAP services and help drive content and deliver trainings.
Specifically, as a Fraud Specialist, the individuals will support and eventually lead work with audit engagement teams to address the consideration of fraud at our audit clients. They will work with the Fraud Specialist team to perform fraud risk related research on certain audit clients (and the industries they operate in) to identify industry and client specific fraud risk factors, fraud risks and fraud schemes.This information will be leveraged as part of our FAA services to audit engagement teams.
Leveraging experience in financial statement audits and exposure to forensic accounting procedures, the individuals will assist our FAA team and audit engagement teams in activities such as:
• Assisting in company research and preparation of financial statements analysis report as a part of pre-reads for brainstorming sessions
• Supporting senior US team resources and USI resources in scoping and summary memos, communications/ calls with audit team and tracking of progress
• Preparing for and supporting management inquiries,
• Preparing for, supporting and participating in Journal entry testing and
• Reviewing and supporting assessments of Anti-fraud program and controls.
When situations require our audit clients to undertake independent investigations, the individuals will be part of a team performing IAP procedures where they will assist in:
• Assist the senior team members in evaluating the investigative team’s overall workplan and scope
• Participating in investigation update meetings with the investigative team and audit engagement team
• Reviewing materials, significant documents, schedules, analyses, and interview findings provided by the investigative team
• Assessing the methods of evidence identification utilized by the investigative team
As a member of the Fraud Risk Center, the individuals will also be part of a team that develops fraud-related training for:
• Fellow Fraud Specialists
• Deloitte & Touche audit teams
• Third parties such as clients, Audit Committees and Boards of Directors
