Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Forklift Operator / Production Floor Associate to join our seafood processing warehouse team. This dual-role position involves operating a forklift to transport materials and products, while also supporting production floor activities. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, cold environment and is willing to perform both equipment operation and manual tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate a sit-down counterbalance forklift to safely load, unload, and transport product and materials throughout the facility.
Move bins, totes, and pallets of fresh and frozen fish throughout the warehouse and production floor.
Transport fish product in and out of cold storage, while maintaining proper handling standards.
Move processed and packaged fish product to cold storage or shipping areas as directed.
Support production tasks including packaging, sorting, labelling, and general fish processing.
Assist with draining, dumping, and repositioning fish bins and totes as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in accordance with food safety standards.
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
Report equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisor promptly.
Assist with inventory movement and stock rotation as needed.
Perform additional duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Valid counterbalance forklift certification.
Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or food processing.
Previous leadership or team lead experience is considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Fast-paced environment requiring efficiency and attention to detail.
Highly repetitive task environment.
Work performed in a refrigerated, cold-climate setting.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs and stand for extended periods.
Flexible to work various shifts and occasional weekends.
