encompasses Grades 4-8 and the 4 th Grade team has five House Advisors that each work with approximately 18 students. Our 4th grade House Advisors teach an integrated Language Arts and Social Studies class, co-teach Math with specialists, and support their advisees through our House curriculum.
The ideal candidate is passionate and knowledgeable about progressive elementary and early middle school education and differentiation. We seek teachers who are enthusiastic about working collaboratively to improve pedagogy and to design innovative curriculum that addresses the whole child. Curricular content in Grade 4 includes a yearlong study of European and Chinese immigration, the Transatlantic Slave Trade, literary studies and analysis, and the writing process, which incorporates links to literature and social studies explorations. The 4th grade team strives to select texts and documents that reflect the diversity of our world.
