Role Description
This is a contract role for a French Math and Technology Teacher, based on-site in Houston, TX. The teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging math and technology lessons in accordance with the French Ministry of Education curriculum, tailored to students in a dual-language learning environment. Tasks include preparing lesson plans, assessing student progress, utilizing educational technology to enhance learning, and fostering a supportive classroom environment. Collaboration with colleagues for curriculum development and participation in school-related events and activities are also part of the role.
Qualifications
• Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development to design and implement engaging and effective course content.
• Experience in Teaching and Education, including creating an engaging classroom environment and assessing student needs.
• Familiarity with Educational Technology to incorporate digital tools and resources into lessons.
• Fluency in both French and English, with excellent communication skills in both languages.
• Experience teaching mathematics and/or technology in a bilingual or international school setting is preferred.
• Understanding of French and/or International Baccalaureate (IB) systems is an advantage.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Technology, or a related field. A teaching certification is preferred.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, students, and the school community.
• Experience working in a multicultural and multilingual environment
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Basic proficiency with educational technology and digital platforms
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• J-1 Sponsorship

French Secondary Teacher at LIH are expected to:
• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with the AEFE curriculum
• Teach French Mathematics

• Create a structured, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
• Assess student progress and communicate regularly with families
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in faculty and cycle meetings
• Contribute to school life through events, supervision duties, and extracurricular activities
• Maintain professional, respectful collaboration across grade levels and disciplines
• Experience preparing students for the Brevet and Baccalaureate exams is expected.
