Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Front Desk Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, providing exceptional patient service, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the medical office. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in various electronic health record (EHR) systems. The Front Desk Coordinator will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment for patients while efficiently handling administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a positive first impression.
Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, follow-ups, and cancellations.
Handle incoming calls on multi-line phone systems, addressing inquiries and directing calls as needed.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Verify insurance information and assist with medical billing processes, including CPT coding and ICD-10 coding.
Review care plans and ensure all necessary documentation is complete and up-to-date.
Assist with medical collections as required, maintaining sensitivity to patient circumstances.
Utilize EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix for patient management.
Perform clerical duties including filing, typing, and data entry with attention to detail.
Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient office operations and high-quality patient care.
Requirements
Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred; dental office experience is a plus.
Proficiency in EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9 and ICD-10), CPT coding, and Medicare processes.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with health information management systems is advantageous.
