About the role
Set within the beautifully restored home of St Hugo in the Barossa Valley, our restaurant pairs world class wines with the finest local, seasonal ingredients to create an experience that is as memorable as it is delicious. As the Front of House Host, you’ll be the person who makes every guest feel at home — guiding them through food and wine service with ease, charm, and professionalism. This provides the stability and security of a permanent part-time position.
What You'll Do:
Every day is storytelling: Pair the finest St Hugo wines with seasonal ingredients, creating moments guests will cherish long after they leave.
Be the heart of hospitality: With warmth and charisma, you’ll welcome guests, inspire Wine Club sign ups, and capture insights that help us grow.
Thrive in excellence: Your eye for detail will keep operations seamless — from stock management to team support — always elevating the guest experience.
Balance and belonging: In a part time permanent role (minimum 12 hours per week), you’ll enjoy flexibility while being part of a team dedicated to passion, professionalism, and unforgettable hospitality.
Based at the St Hugo Grant Burge Cellar Door & Restaurant, your focus will be on elevating restaurant operations.
What You'll Bring:
The ability to deliver across both the St Hugo Grant Burge Wine Lounge and Restaurant operations.
Confidence with Point of Sale systems and electronic banking facilities.
A Responsible Service of ******* certificate, plus experience in fast paced hospitality or wine environments.
Strong communication skills, with proven success in sales and guest engagement.
A genuine passion for wine and the desire to craft unforgettable experiences.
Local knowledge of cellar doors and hospitality offerings in the Barossa.
