Overview
We are looking for a skilled Full Stack Python Developer with strong expertise in FastAPI and data visualization to join a product-focused engineering team. This role centers on building and scaling backend services for a data visualization platform powered by a custom Python library.
The platform enables the generation, transformation, and export of rich, interactive charts from Python-based data workflows. The ideal candidate will have deep backend engineering experience, a strong understanding of data-heavy systems, and an interest in visualization-driven products rather than traditional CRUD-based applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using FastAPI to support a Python-based data visualization library
- Build and maintain APIs that transform analytical data into chart-ready configurations compatible with Highcharts
- Implement services for chart rendering, export, and data processing pipelines
- Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and compute-intensive workloads
- Integrate backend services with frontend visualization layers and export workflows
- Deploy, manage, and monitor backend services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Ensure high standards of code quality, test coverage, and maintainable architecture
Skills & Requirements
- Robust proficiency in Python with hands-on backend development experience
- Practical experience with FastAPI or similar asynchronous Python frameworks
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous processing, and data pipelines
- Experience working with data visualization concepts, charting libraries, or analytics platforms
- Experience deploying and operating applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and modern backend tooling
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with Highcharts or similar visualization libraries
- Experience building export services (PDF, SVG, PNG, server-side rendering)
- Knowledge of performance tuning for data-intensive applications
- Exposure to frontend frameworks or chart configuration schemas
