Job Description
• Full–time K-8 Educational Support Teacher (Special Education Teacher/Interventionist)
• Professional Educators License (PEL), Type LBS1/Special Education State of Illinois license
• Training and experience teaching within special education preferred
• Experience working with MTSS at the high school level and or experience working in inclusive settings preferred
Responsibilities
• Co-teaching
• Providing Tier 3 intervention
• Case-management for students with Individualized Service Plans or accommodations plans
• Consultation with classroom teachers
• Collaboration with various teams throughout the school
• Enrich or modify lessons, curriculum, materials and resources as needed to meet individual student's needs and varying levels of progress
• Interpret student assessment data for application of instructional methods and monitoring of student progress
• Review student progress via assessments, maintain records of student work, and develop intervention strategies to ensure student success and growth
• Communicate both verbally and in writing with parents and students on progress
• Assess work, modify and provide regular feedback
• Act as role model by encouraging appropriate behaviors that lead to spiritual, social, emotional and physical development
