Position Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Fund Accountant to join our finance team. The Fund Accountant will play a critical role in managing the accounting and financial reporting for our investment funds. This position requires strong accounting skills, knowledge of fund structures, and the ability to ensure accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders.
Roles And Responsibilities
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, NAV (Net Asset Value) calculations, and investor reports for various investment funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Fund Accounting: Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliations of fund transactions, including cash, positions, and accruals, to maintain accurate fund records.
• NAV Calculations: Calculate and verify Net Asset Values (NAV) for investment funds, including valuation of assets, liabilities, income, and expenses.
• Investor Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for investor inquiries, providing accurate and timely responses and maintaining positive relationships with investors and stakeholders.
• Performance Reporting: Prepare performance metrics, including IRR (Internal Rate of Return), ROI (Return on Investment), and other performance indicators, to assess fund performance and support investor communications.
• Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal controls in fund accounting and financial reporting processes.
• Tax Reporting: Assist in preparing tax schedules, documents, and filings related to investment funds, collaborating with tax advisors and ensuring timely submission.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in fund accounting procedures, systems automation, and efficiency enhancements.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with portfolio managers, operations teams, auditors, and external service providers to facilitate fund operations and reporting requirements.
• Ad hoc Projects: Support special projects, initiatives, and ad hoc requests related to fund accounting, financial analysis, and reporting as needed.
Skills Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (CPA, CFA, or relevant certifications preferred).
• Proven experience as a Fund Accountant, Investment Accountant, or in a similar role within asset management, hedge funds, private equity, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of fund accounting principles, NAV calculations, financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and regulatory requirements (SEC, IRS).
• Proficiency in accounting software and systems (e.g., Advent Geneva, Investran, Yardi), Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with investors, stakeholders, and external auditors.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
