Sr. Fund Consultant (Fund Accounting), New York NY
A growing organization in the Alternative Investments sector is seeking a Senior Associate in Finance to join our expanding Private Funds Group (PFG). Which has launched and closed several new funds over the past year and are looking for an experienced professional to help support our continued growth.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Controller in overseeing the Private Funds Group
Manage finance operations for 40+ Private Equity Funds, including Primary and Secondary Fund of Funds and SMAs
Validate the NAV for the funds prepared by the fund administrator
Execute practical expedient (AU 332 reviews) during the quarterly valuation process
Prepare quarterly and annual fund financial statements
Coordinate with auditors during the annual audit
Manage capital calls and distributions for GP and LP investors
Prepare and monitor fund expenses and vendor payments
Resolve tax issues for funds
Handle regulatory reporting (Form PF, ADV, AIFMD)
Provide support for RFPs and new deals
Perform operational due diligence for new investments
Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and run rates
Work on various ad hoc projects
Manage cash flow and liquidity for the funds
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting
CPA preferred
4-6 years of experience in the private equity space (a combination of public accounting and private experience is ideal)
Strong attention to detail with a proactive and results-driven mindset
Excellent ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and meet deadlines
Capable of working independently and collaboratively with teams
Professional maturity to engage with portfolio managers and investment teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
