Located in the vibrant Notting Hill area, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Garment Technician to join our dynamic team. What You’ll Do:
As a Garment Technician at Pilgrim Clothing, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and design are maintained across our product lines. Your week could look like this:
Develop and Update Specification Sheets: Create new specification sheets when required and update existing ones to reflect any changes.
Drive Fit Sessions: Utilize your expertise to lead fit sessions, offering valuable feedback to our design team and customers to enhance garment fit and comfort.
Coordinate Sampling: Manage the sampling of garments, ensuring that quality and design meet customer expectations and standards.
Collaborate with the Director and Design Team: Work closely with the director and Design Team to streamline workflow and adhere to critical path timelines.
Execute Quality Control Checks: Perform quality control checks and review sampling reports to provide actionable feedback to product designers and factories.
Ensure Consistent Sizing and Fit: Maintain consistent sizing and fit across all brands and categories, ensuring uniformity and satisfaction.
Assist with Small Tasks: Support the director and design team with additional tasks as needed to contribute to the overall success of the team.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: At least 3 years of proven experience as a Garment Technician or in a similar role within the fashion industry.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and fabric properties. Skilled in pattern making is highly desirable. Comprehensive knowledge of tech packs and garment specifications is essential.
Effective Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with factories, providing detailed fit comments and necessary adjustments at various stages, including prototype and pre-production. Ensure accurate grading specifications across all sizes.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to identify quality issues and provide thorough feedback.
Organizational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet tight deadlines, including development handovers and the timely dispatch of fit comments and updated specifications.
Innovation: A proactive approach to developing and implementing new processes to enhance workflow, quality, and efficiency.
