About the role
We are currently seeking applications from qualified Primary School teachers with a passion for teaching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children - in our Gawura School.
Essential Criteria
Be a qualified, experienced teacher who demonstrates enthusiasm and the ability to inspire primary age students
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of recent developments in the theory and practice of primary pedagogy
Possess outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the Junior School team
Be expected to have an understanding of and commitment to the School’s Christian framework, values and ethos
Desirable Criteria:
Particular expertise in the effective development of literacy & numeracy as well as unqualified support for the ethos of St Andrew’s Christian character and Gawura’s educational model is desired
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander ancestry or experience teaching First Nations students

St Andrew’s Cathedral School (SACS) is an independent, Kindergarten to Year 12 Anglican school located in two high-rise buildings in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. The school offers students a strong academic program and extensive opportunities to be involved in sport, music, drama and outdoor education.

Prior to employment at the School, this position requires the successful applicant to have a Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
