What you will do:
As our General Accountant,you will help the Accounting Team by taking responsibility for the corporate accounting practices including maintenance of accounting records, preparing financial reports, internal auditing, and tax compliance. This position may work at either our Detroit Lakes, MN or Ashland, OH locations, or may possibility work remotely based experience.
The job:
Every day, your primary role will be preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements timely and accurately. You will precisely prepare and file state sales tax returns, and record and maintain fixed asset and depreciation listings. You will use careful analysis to influence colleagues with fact-based approaches and ideas to ensure optimal performance and results.
The skills you need:
To succeed in this role, you must have experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and account reconciliations. You must be able to gather and analyze information from the general ledger system to answer accounting and financial questions. You must have a strong attention to detail and be willing to challenge senior management in a constructive, balanced way, offering solutions and fresh thinking.
