Skills and Qualifications
• Mariner with business background is preferred.
• Experience of Sailing on Offshore/DP Vessels as Master or Chief Engineer.
• DPA and CSO certification
Key Role and Responsibilities:
• Management and Setup of the Marine Crew department for company owned, managed, operated, chartered vessels.
• Marine crew Vetting and Selection for owned, managed and chartered vessels. This shall include vetting and selection of Master’s Officers for their deployment on company owned, managed or charter vessels.
• Coordination with Master of Vessel’s (whether owned, chartered or managed).
• Oversee and monitors ships and ensures compliance with ISM, ISPS, ISO, and international & Flag state regulatory requirements.
• Actively involved in the vessel’s audit, OVID, IMCA, MWS etc
• Analyse budget and expenditure reports.
• Coordinate safe and efficient operation of the ships in accordance with standards of international ship management, relevant legislation and quality standards.
• Develop a framework and process to manage business risk.
• Develop strategies for resource planning and utilization.
• Establish the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) for the business.
• Evaluate effectiveness of systems and strategies to monitor compliance.
• Evaluate emergency crisis management plans.
• Formulate resource budgets for ships and oversee costs.
• Implement improvements to workflows to improve efficiency.
• Monitor reports to ensure ships meet requirements and possess the relevant documentation.
• Oversee implementation of workflow improvements to improve efficiency.
• Oversee ship inspections, audits and dry dockings.
• Review purchasing performance to identify shortcomings.
• Set goals, expectations and coach crew in line with organization’s competence and performance management objectives.
• Identify and solicit prospective clients.
• To act as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and fulfill all duties required by statutory, regulatory and any other authorities. Also, review, monitor, and amendment of all ISM, SMC, Apex Manuals with approval of Company.
• To act as Company Security Office (CSO) and fulfill all Duties required by statutory, regulatory and any other authorities.
• To act as QHSE Manager whenever required.
• Representing the company for business meetings, INSA, ICCSA, etc.
• Liaise with DG, MMD, Class, and other authorities and close outs of any COC, NC as and when required.
