The role of GM People & Culture at Mackay Sugar is an executive-level position reporting to the CEO, focused on providing strategic leadership and direction to ensure the ongoing availability of a skilled and high-performing workforce. This entails setting and maintaining performance standards, ensuring compliance, and driving advancement in Health, Safety, Environment, and Social Licence initiatives. The GM People & Culture will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive workplace culture and developing comprehensive strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent within the organisation. This position is instrumental in shaping Mackay Sugar's commitment to operational excellence and sustainability through effective leadership and proactive management of human resources.
We are seeking a GM People & Culture with tertiary qualifications in Human Resources and a proven track record in delivery and managerial experience. The ideal candidate will have experience leading large-scale change management programs, particularly in organisational design and productivity enhancement. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effectively engaging with individuals at all organisational levels. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to change management, possess strong multitasking abilities, and exhibit a deep commitment to safety and fostering a positive organisational culture. This role requires the ability to quickly establish credibility, influence diverse stakeholders, and effectively communicate with large groups including growers and employees.
