Established in 1+81, Ambrosia Nurseries is proudly family owned and operated. We have grown into one of New Zealand’s leading and most respected wholesale plant nurseries. Based just outside of Christchurch, the nursery has become the preferred supplier to major retail chains including Mitre 10, Bunnings and The Warehouse.
What You’ll Do:
Immerse yourself in a hands-on role where you’ll be an essential part of our thriving nursery operations. Your daily tasks will involve everything from picking, to packing to quality control and general nursery duties. As part of a dedicated team, you’ll contribute to the growth of plants that will enhance gardens and landscapes across New Zealand. Your role is vital in making sure our operations flourish, and you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing your work directly impacts our success.
We have two positions available - Fixed term until Xmas and a full-time permanent role. What we are looking for:
A person with a positive, can-do attitude, who is reliable and hard working in all situations.
Strong communication skills and a knack for problem-solving.
A drive to meet targets with a keen eye for detail.
Must have current forklift licence for permanent role only
Physically fit and active, with the ability to do moderate lifting duties, be on feet all day, bending and reaching.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a tight-knit team.
Commitment to following Health and Safety procedures.
Must have own reliable transport - bus service not operating near the nursery
Desirable but not needed:
A passion for plants or prior knowledge of horticulture. If you love the outdoors and have a natural interest in plants, this could be the perfect role for you!
Experience in operating machinery is an advantage, but don't worry we can teach you.
