This is a full-time, immediate start role with the potential for a contract or permanent placement from September 2026.About the Role: Position: General Teaching Assistant (KS1) Location: Bury, BL9 Start Date: Immediate (until July 2026) Potential for Contract/Permanent Role: From September 2026 Salary: Competitive, based on experienceKey Responsibilities: Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3. Assist with phonics sessions, supporting children with reading, writing, and early literacy development. Work closely with children in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support for those who need extra help. Support targeted interventions for children who need additional support in areas like literacy, numeracy, and social skills. Provide general classroom assistance, ensuring all children remain engaged and focused during lessons. Help manage classroom behaviour, encouraging positive attitudes to learning. Support assessment and record-keeping for student progress under the direction of the class teacher.What We're Looking For: Qualification: You must hold a Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) or have at least 6 months' prior experience working as a TA in a school setting. Phonics Knowledge: Understanding of phonics and how to support children in early literacy is essential.
