About Chore
Chore exists to kill admin so founders can "Chore No More" and build their dreams. We are the end of admin. We are the future. We are the better world for everyone.
Startups run on back-office systems (HR, payroll, compliance, onboarding, documentation, workflows) and when those systems break, the company breaks. We are the operators who keep those systems alive.
We don’t believe in support roles. We believe in operators who run the systems that keep companies alive.
We’re a remote-first, high-autonomy team that values:
• Ownership over ego
• Experimentation over stagnation
• Merit over pedigree
• Clarity over complexity
• Delight over “just good enough”
If you want to work with sharp teammates, solve real business challenges, and grow faster in 2 years than most do in 5, you’ll feel at home here.

The Role
As a Generalist at Chore, you will build the systems and tools that power how the company runs - from internal workflows to AI-driven solutions that improve speed, quality, and scale across teams.
This is not about managing operations. It’s about designing and building better ways of working - using automation, AI, and systems thinking to turn messy, manual processes into structured, scalable solutions.
You’ll work on high-impact initiatives across areas like client onboarding, team enablement, payments, and internal infrastructure - taking ideas from zero to execution and ensuring they are actually used in practice.
If you enjoy turning ambiguity into systems and building solutions that make teams significantly more effective - this is your role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build and deploy internal products end-to-end
Turn loosely defined problems into structured, usable solutions - tools, workflows, dashboards, and automations used by teams daily, with AI at the core of how you think, design, and build
Success = systems that are adopted, reduce manual work, and improve operational efficiency
2. Think in products and systems, not tasks
Approach problems with a product mindset - designing scalable, repeatable solutions instead of one-off fixes. Use automation, tools, and AI to build smarter, faster systems.
Success = solutions that scale with the company and reduce recurring operational complexity
3. Own high-impact internal initiatives from 0 → 1
Take on messy, high-priority internal problems and drive them from idea to execution - scoping, building, testing, and refining independently
Success = projects shipped with clear outcomes and minimal oversight
4. Operate with high ownership and proactive execution
Take full responsibility for outcomes, manage priorities effectively, and bring structure to ambiguous problems. Identify gaps early and step in to solve them without waiting for direction.
Success = consistent progress, strong execution without follow-ups, and problems solved before they escalate
5. Drive clear communication and stakeholder alignment
Keep teams aligned through structured updates, clear documentation, and timely escalation of risks or decisions. Communicate in a way that is concise, thoughtful, and easy to act on.
Success = no chasing for updates, faster decision-making, and stakeholders who are consistently informed and aligned
Who You Are
• High-agency builder: You see gaps, define problems clearly, and take ownership from idea to execution
• Systems thinker: You naturally think in workflows, tools, and repeatable systems - not one-off tasks
• AI-native operator: You use AI as a core part of how you think, design, and build - exploring tools, chaining workflows, and constantly improving how you work beyond just basic usage
• Strong product intuition: You care about usability, clarity, and adoption - not just building something, but building something that works
• Clear communicator: You structure your thinking well and communicate in a way that is easy to follow and act on
• Comfortable with ambiguity: You can take messy, undefined problems and turn them into structured, actionable solutions
Why This Role Is Special
• Build the systems that run the company - not just operate within them
• Drive high-impact internal products with immediate visibility and adoption
• Own real projects from day one - not support work
• Develop a rare blend of product thinking and operational depth
• Learn how systems scale inside a fast-growing company
• Contribute to leadership discussions and shape how Chore evolves
• Explore cross-functional work across ops, product, marketing, and more
We attract people who want to grow faster in 2 years than most do in 5.
Compensation & Logistics
• Compensation : Fixed at $15,000 USD per year (we do not believe in negotiating so please proceed only if you're aligned)
• Compensation is merit-based and increases as you demonstrate ownership, judgment, and impact. As your scope expands, your compensation grows accordingly and significantly
• Equity : All team members receive equity; further grants awarded based on performance
• Benefits : Up to $250/month WFH Stipend + Up to $50/month wellness stipend (eligible after a 60 day trial period)
• Location : Remote (India)
• Schedule : US business hours (Eastern or Pacific Time). This is mandatory and challenging. If you cannot consistently work EST or PST hours, this role will not be a good fit
Read Before Applying
We believe in being upfront about the hard parts.
• High ambiguity: Problems won’t come clearly defined. You’ll often have to figure out what the actual problem is before solving it
• 0→1 building: This is not about maintaining systems - you’ll be building them from scratch, often without a clear playbook
• AI is expected, not optional: You already use AI as a core part of how you think, prototype, and build - this is about designing systems, creating intelligent workflows, and turning manual processes into scalable solutions
• High ownership: There’s minimal hand-holding. You’re expected to manage your own priorities and move things forward
• Fast pace + iteration: You’ll ship quickly, test, and refine. Things won’t be perfect - that’s part of the process
• 60-day fully paid trial period: We only move forward when it’s clearly a mutual fit. In your first 60 days, success looks like shipping systems that teams actually use
If this energizes you, not intimidates you, you’re likely a great fit.
❤️ Our Values
• Delight All Stakeholders: Make work feel easier, clearer, and more thoughtful for clients, teammates, and yourself
• Meritocracy: We reward based on value created - not pedigree or longevity
• Experiment & Adapt: Try things, learn fast, and improve continuously
• Assume Good Intentions: Take feedback well. Fix things proactively. Be a force multiplier
Final Note
We don’t care where you worked or what you studied. We care about what you can do.
