The Role
The fixed-term post holder will be aligned to the South Lanarkshire Stroke Neurological Rehabilitation Team and play a key part in aiming to increase access to evidence-based rehabilitation after stroke by providing input to people after hospital discharge in a Technology Enriched Rehabilitation Gym (TERG).
To work under the supervision of registered therapy staff to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified service.
Implement, adapt and progress treatment programmes within agreed protocols and defined parameters.
Use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient centred programmes across a variety of clinical settings.
Discharge or transition care within agreed protocols and defined parameters.

What we'll need you to bring
HNC in healthcare, education or social cares or SVQ III in healthcare, education or social care or equivalent experience in a health, education or social care environment.
Short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area.
Full driving licence holder.
Knowledge and Skills
Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
Knowledge of the therapeutic process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
Basic assessment skills.
Ability to apply a range of technical and practical rehabilitation skills.
Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
Time management, planning and organisational skills.
Working knowledge of basic information technology.
Ability to work individually, or as part of a team
Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
Breadth of experience of therapy or rehabilitation /
Re-ablement in a health, education or social care environment.
Working knowledge of basic information technology
Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area
Contract type
Fixed Term or Secondment until 31st August 2027.
Part Time
15 hours
Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Please note this is a fixed term post until 31st August 2027. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Stroke & Neurological Rehabilitation within The Beacons Blantyre
