Position Summary
Masters Academy is seeking a qualified and passionate Lead Pre-K Teacher to provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for preschool-aged children. Under the direction of the School Director and in alignment with Georgia Pre-K (DECAL) standards, this role fosters children’s intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth in a nurturing and engaging classroom environment.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet Georgia Pre-K (DECAL) Lead Teacher credential requirements by meeting one of the following:
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field
• A bachelor’s degree in a non-ECE field plus an approved ECE credential (e.g., ECE associate degree, TCD, TCC, Montessori diploma, or Preschool CDA)
• A valid Georgia teaching certificate (GaPSC) with a four-year degree
Additional Requirements:
• Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Experience
• At least one year of experience in a licensed preschool or childcare setting
• Familiarity with GELDS (Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards)
• Experience with lesson planning, WSO, assessments, and classroom management
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Lesson Planning
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with GELDS
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to support all learners
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual needs
Assessment & Documentation
• Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate student records
• Complete required GA Pre-K assessments and documentation
• Hold at least two family conferences annually
Classroom Environment & Management
• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
• Establish consistent routines and positive behavior expectations
Collaboration & Communication
• Maintain regular communication with families
• Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and staff
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development
Compliance & Operations
• Ensure compliance with all Georgia Pre-K and DECAL licensing requirements
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director

• Ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 20 lbs), and actively engage with children
