Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Controller, the General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day GL accounting function. The GL Accountant will ensure the accuracy, timeliness and continued improvement of accounting operations including AR, payroll, bank and tax operations. The role is instrumental in ensuring accuracy and reliability of accounting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting of AR, payroll, bank and tax operations on a daily basis
In charge of AR cash collection on a daily basis
Communicate on a daily basis with operational departments and stakeholders
Check and maintain on time and accurate trial balance at month end
Check and maintain on time and accurate AR subledger at month end
Maintain and develop account reconciliations on a monthly basis
Accounting for intercompany operations and reconciliation at month end
Support the Controller in preparing daily cash tracking and rolling cash forecasts
Prepare the supporting documentation of accounts for year-end audits
Applies critical thinking skills to analyze information, resolve issues, and understand how accounting activities impact overall business operations
Maintain adequate accounting systems and processes in place. Implement changes whenever necessary with a continuous improvement mindset
Collaborate and provide support to the other accounting team members to be successful in achieving the total Department goals
Support the Controller in completing daily tasks or project work as requested
Support the Controller in the preparation of budget and quarterly forecasts, maintaining and updating various budget components
Any other ad hoc tasks or projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum requirement of newly acquired CPA designation or equivalent combination of education and experience working towards a CPA.
Minimum of 3-4 years’ work experience.
Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English with excellent communication skills.
Computer skills that include accounting experience in ERP systems
Production or manufacturing experience and knowledge would be a plus.
Ability to multi-task, be well-organized and detail-oriented, collaborate with a team and different stakeholders
Possess good time management skills, understands how to prioritize, and works well under pressure to meet deadlines.
Exceptional customer service skills, communicating in a professional and respectful manner with both internal and external customers.
Desire and ability to learn new things and develop
