Experience Required: minimum 3-5 years in textbook publishing (proficiency in Adobe Creative cloud suite— Illustrator, InDesign, CorelDRAW, Photoshop etc.) Equation Editors, Office Package (Word, Excel, Power Point)

Role Summary
The DTP Operator will be responsible for the layout, formatting and typesetting of children’s textbooks, ensuring visually engaging and age-appropriate designs. The role involves preparing Camera Ready Copies (CRC), collaborating with editorial and design teams, and maintaining consistency across pages while adhering to publishing standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and format children’s textbooks using approved style sheets and templates.
2. Must know how to draw diagrams and illustrations relevant to educational content, especially for early-grade textbooks.
3. Maintain visual consistency in line length, fonts, margins, pixels, illustrations and layout across chapters.
4. Conduct thorough quality checks for alignment, resolution, formatting errors
and separation.
5. Incorporate editorial and proofreading corrections to finalise CRCs.
6. Prepare pre-press files as per printer specifications and assist with post-press revisions.
7. Stay updated with new children’s book design and publishing software.
