Job Description
Duties
Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employee performance
Oversee inventory management, including stock ordering, stocking, and inventory control to minimize waste and optimize product availability
Manage purchasing decisions and negotiate with vendors to secure favorable terms
Ensure accurate cash handling, POS operations, and cashiering procedures
Develop and implement sales strategies, pricing policies, and merchandising plans to increase store revenue
Monitor sales data and retail math to track performance metrics and identify growth opportunities
Maintain store appearance through effective merchandising and stock organization
Oversee shift management, scheduling staff shifts to ensure proper coverage during operating hours
Conduct regular employee orientation, training & development sessions to enhance team skills
Handle administrative tasks such as bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, and record keeping
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and store policies
Foster excellent customer service through effective communication skills and phone etiquette
Lead marketing initiatives to promote store offerings and community engagement
Skills
Proven management experience within retail or grocery environments with supervising responsibilities
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting
Excellent communication skills, including bilingual or multilingual abilities preferred for diverse customer bases
Proficiency in POS systems, retail math, pricing strategies, and inventory management software
Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, merchandising, and stock control techniques
Experience in employee recruitment, interviewing, training & development, and team management
Competent in cash handling procedures and cashiering operations
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive work environment
Knowledge of retail sales strategies, marketing techniques, budgeting processes, and store management principles
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
