As Group Accountant at DaVita International you’ll support the international subsidiaries through accounting, reviews, analysis, and reporting of each period’s close activities. The role will also provide training to our international subsidiaries ensuring department goals and objectives are achieved in alignment with DaVita's Mission and Core Values.
What will you be doing?
• Ensure accurate US GAAP/IFRS financials and local statutory financials are properly prepared for all of the countries assigned and maintenance of GAAP to statutory financial reconciliations
• Responsible for general ledger functions such as journal entry preparation, account analysis, account reconciliation, and ad hoc schedules
• Prepare & analyse financial statements including variance analysis, aging schedules, and account reconciliations
• Play a lead role with other departments to solve issues, establish policies and improve processes
• Investigate and resolve issues on complex accounting matters
• Support annual statutory audit processes ensuring timely and accurate country specific filings.
• Prepare communications such as memos, presentation charts and process documentation.
• Be a primary contact for US & International teammates
What you’ll need to succeed?
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent required
• CPA license or equivalent strongly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience performing and accounting functions including preparation of supporting schedules, journal entries, financial statements and account reconciliations
• General knowledge of SOX, US GAAP/IFRS and accounting procedures
• Demonstrated strengths in organisational, attention-to-detail, follow-through, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to seek underlying assumptions through probing, questioning, and listening
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively across cultures
• Intermediate to advanced computers skills required in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
• Experience with Oracle is preferred
• Additional languages in Spanish, Mandarin or Japanese would be advantageous, but not essential
