Ascent Recruitment Ltd is pleased to be working with a large and well-known business based in Salford, seeking a Group Financial Accountant.
This is an ideal opportunity for a first-time ACA/ACCA mover.
Reporting to a supportive Head of Financial Control, you'll gain valuable industry experience in a technical role with broad responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the statutory reporting process for operating and holding companies
- Support regulatory reporting
- Prepare technical accounting and board papers
- Ensure compliance with external reporting requirements
- Maintain all accounting records to meet management, statutory, and regulatory needs
- Provide technical accounting support across the Finance department
- Lead the audit process
- Review monthly control accounts for the Group
- Support and develop financial controls
- Contribute to business plans, budgets, and forecasts for the CEO directorate
- Ad-hoc investigations and lead financial improvement projects
Required Skills and Experience:
- ACA/ACCA qualification, with practice training
- Experience in year-end financial processes, external audits, and preparing financial statements
- Strong financial and corporate reporting skills tailored for various audiences
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Familiarity with UK GAAP/IFRS standards
- Strong analytical skills and process management experience
- Experience of large organisations (desirable)
Salary and Benefits:
£55,000, plus bonus and genuinely excellent benefits!
