EVEN Hotel Long Island City is seeking a highly organized Part-Time Front Desk Accountant to support some daily guest-facing operation shifts while owning key accounting and profitability reporting functions. This role combines traditional front desk responsibilities with hands-on financial analysis, revenue tracking, and preparation of the hotel’s profit sword and operating performance reports. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to balance financial accuracy with exceptional guest service.Essential ResponsibilitiesFront Desk & Guest Services
Greet, register, and assign rooms to hotel guests in a professional and welcoming manner.
Verify guest credit and establish approved methods of payment upon check-in.
Maintain accurate records of room availability and guest accounts using the hotel’s property management system.
Review guest accounts and charges during the checkout process to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Answer all incoming phone calls within three rings or less and respond to guest inquiries professionally.
Make, modify, and confirm reservations.
Record guest comments or complaints and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report issues and follow up to ensure resolution.
Notify housekeeping when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning.
Accounting, Audit & Profitability Responsibilities
Perform daily revenue reconciliation, income audits, and balancing of receipts prior to closing each business day.
Post and verify charges for rooms, food, beverage, and ancillary services to guest ledgers.
Complete daily “bucket checks” to ensure all accounts are current and compliant with standards established by the Controller and Front Office Manager.
Prepare, maintain, and analyze the hotel’s profit sword, including revenue, expense, and margin tracking.
Monitor operating costs and identify variances, trends, and opportunities for improved profitability.
Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for management and ownership.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable tracking, as assigned.
Assist with payroll documentation, labor tracking, and departmental expense reconciliation.
Ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and maintained in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

Environmental Conditions
Primarily indoor work environment with protection from weather conditions, though temperature variations may occur.
Position requires spending approximately 75% or more of working time indoors.
Mathematical & Analytical Skills
Strong ability to compute profit and loss, percentages, ratios, margins, discounts, and variances.
Ability to analyze revenue, expenses, and operating trends to support management decisions.
Language & Communication Skills
Ability to read, interpret, and prepare financial reports, business correspondence, and operational summaries.
Ability to write clear, professional reports and communicate findings to management.
Specific Vocational Preparation
Accounting, finance, or bookkeeping experience required; hospitality accounting preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional, with advanced Excel skills required.
Experience with hotel PMS systems (Opera preferred) and accounting software.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
