Education: B.E. Computer Science/IT degree (or any other engineering discipline)
Experience: 3+ years
Work timings: 2 PM to 11 PM IST
Position Requirements:
●Minimum 3 years of experience managing on-prem Hadoop systems (any distribution).
●Minimum 1 year of experience managing RDBMS databases such as Oracle, MSSQL or PostgreSQL.
●Hands on Experience with installation, configuration, administration, tuning, backup/DR and security needs on either Vertica or Hadoop.
●Experience with tuning and troubleshooting Hadoop compounds such as Zookeeper, YARN, Tez
●Knowledge of platform security (Ranger, Atlas, Knox) as well as data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) and data protection laws (HIPAA, PII).
●Knowledge in authentication, Active Directory, Kerberos.
●Experience with any of the Linux distribution, RHEL, CentOS or Fedora from system administration to DevOps.
●Deep knowledge shell scripting, scheduling, monitoring processes on Linux.
●Working knowledge of other data related technologies, Elasticsearch, Redis, SOLR, Kafka will be an added advantage.
●Hands on Experience as Data Engineer, Database Developer or Data Warehouse Developer.
●Experience with Programming background with either Python, Scala, Java or C/C++ will be an added advantage.
●Working knowledge of orchestration tools such Oozie and Airflow is good to have.
●Basic understanding of data warehouse concepts.
Role & Responsibilities:
● Manage large-scale, on-prem, highly available Hadoop infrastructure.
● Capacity planning or forecasting on both storage and compute.
● Developing appropriate DR or backup solutions
● Optimize system components (CPU, memory, networking) as well as OS setting to reach maximum potential for the given hardware.
● Work closely with Data Engineers, BI/DS/ML teams and Operations (System Engineering, NetOps, DBAs) and all other cross functional teams across all Internet Brands.
● Involved with on-call as well as scheduled maintenance downtimes (3rd Thursday of each month).
● Manage and work to improve our own Hadoop distribution based on all open-sourced Apache distributions
