About the Role
An experienced and skilled head of HR will spearhead the people management activities at Express Global Logistics (EXG). He/she will be responsible for end-to-end HR activities including talent acquisition, performance management, promotion, succession planning, payroll, & HR operations. This role will be part of the executive team at EXG and will report directly to the head of the business.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Partner with business heads to define manpower requirements based on budgets, growth targets, strategic initiatives, and succession planning
• Conduct campus drive to hire interns and campus recruitments to bring in young talent across the organization
• Manage talent acquisition by developing a candidate pipeline, coordinating with consultants, and building the EXG employer brand
• Review HR policies periodically with the leadership team and communicate them to the staff
• Manage the performance management activities including objective setting and the mid-year / end of year review process
• Run the performance-based promotion and increment process by liaising with all the HODs
• Manage employee grievances, feedback and suggestions and ensure that valid ones are implemented
• Coordinate with the HR Team to ensure all operational activities such as Onboarding, Induction, Payroll, Attendance, and documentation are done within pre-defined SLAs
• Report key HR metrics to management such as retention rates, cost per hire, recruitment TATs and budgets
Requirements
• Must have 10+ years of experience in HR with at least 5 years in logistics (Freight Forwarding, Customs Brokers, Shipping etc.)
• Should demonstrate the ability to build new teams from scratch pan India
• The candidate should have an MBA or should be a postgraduate in a HR related field
• The candidate must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, should exhibit emotional intelligence and an ability to manage people of various personalities
• Self-starter, independent and excellent at driving teams.
