Job Description
The Head - HR will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to the HR function, aligning human resource initiatives with business goals. This role encompasses responsibility for talent acquisition, learning & development, employee engagement, organizational development, compliance, compensation, HR technology, and culture transformation. The incumbent will act as a key advisor to the leadership team and foster an environment that upholds company values and supports business scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Lead the design and execution of the HR strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on all matters related to people, culture, and organizational effectiveness.
- Champion organizational transformation initiatives and drive a high-performance, inclusive work culture.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee core HR functions including Recruitment, Payroll, Compliance, Employee Relations, L&D, Compensation & Benefits, and Performance Management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and policies (Labour Laws, POSH, ESI, PF, Gratuity, etc.).
- Implement and regularly update policies in line with best practices and legal requirements, including data protection, equality, and health & safety regulations.
Talent Management & Development
- Develop a strong talent pipeline, succession plans, and programs for high-potential talent.
- Promote and implement learning & development strategies to upskill the workforce and future leaders.
- Encourage a culture of coaching and mentoring, working closely with senior leaders to guide career development.
Employee Engagement & Culture Building
- Lead initiatives that boost employee engagement, build motivation, and enhance welfare.
- Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, creating a culture of respect and belonging.
- Promote transparency and collaboration across departments, supporting a thriving open-door culture.
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Deliver reports on key HR metrics including headcount, attrition, payroll analytics, training effectiveness, and more.
- Provide actionable insights to management using data-driven approaches and HR dashboards.
- Monitor ROI of HR initiatives and present impact assessments to leadership.
Systems, Processes & Budget Management
- Lead the digital transformation of HR processes, integrating effective HRMS platforms.
- Establish strong HR governance and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across HR sub-functions.
- Plan and manage the HR budget, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Master's degree in Human Resources / Business Administration / Organizational Development or related field.
- 12+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role, preferably in retail, fashion, or consumer-focused sectors.
- Strong understanding of labour laws, HR compliance, and modern HR tech platforms.
- Proven track record in strategic HR leadership, cultural transformation, and team development.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- A proactive and empathetic leader who thrives in fast-paced and evolving environments
