Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal & Compliance Lead to lead and manage the legal function of our fintech organization. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of fintech regulations, compliance, and legal frameworks, coupled with a proven track record of managing legal operations in the financial technology sector.
Responsibilities & Duties
• Oversee and manage the entire legal activities
• Ensure compliance with fintech-related laws and regulations, including payments, lending, data protection, and consumer protection laws.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize various contracts, including partnership agreements, vendor contracts, and licensing arrangements.
• Handle legal disputes, arbitrations, and litigation, liaising with external legal counsel as necessary.
• Develop and implement internal policies, guidelines, and frameworks to mitigate legal risks.
• Serve as the organization's key representative in legal matters and regulatory audits.
Desired Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB); Master's degree (LLM) is a plus.
• Minimum 4-8 years of experience in the legal field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within the fintech industry.
• In-depth knowledge of financial services regulations / Fintech / Payment Gateways.
• Experience handling complex legal issues, including litigation, regulatory compliance, and commercial agreements.
