About the role:

The Head of Events oversees the delivery of high-profile events for Victorian Government ministers and Department of Health executives to support communications and engagement outcomes.

The role manages a team of events professionals who deliver a range of ministerial and stakeholder events, as well as awards programs across the health, mental health and wellbeing and ageing portfolios.

Your organisational skills, eye for detail, flexibility and quick thinking will be crucial in supporting a busy team to deliver a large number of events.

You will lead the Communication and Engagement Branch's relationship with important stakeholders, including Ministerial Offices, Senior Executives across government and a range of health services and external agencies.

You will work closely with branch colleagues, senior executives, and relevant business areas within the department to ensure that delivery of events is of a high standard, effective and are clearly aligned to the department's strategic plan.

Qualifications / Specialist Expertise

Qualifications - A tertiary qualification in communications or another related discipline, or equivalent experience, would be highly desirable.

Specialist Expertise - The following experience would be highly regarded:

Strong experience in event management or related area
Experience working with Government departments and Ministerial Offices
