Position Overview
As the Country Head of Human Resources, you will be responsible for leading and executing the human resources strategy for India, while aligning it with the global HR strategy set by the global Head of HR. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the workforce, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, managing talent, and cultivating a culture of innovation and efficiency within our tech and manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
• HR Strategy Development: Collaborate with the global Head of HR and local General Manager to develop and execute a localised HR strategy that aligns with the global objectives and addresses specific needs of the tech and manufacturing industry in India.
• Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing HR team providing coaching, mentorship, and development opportunities to team members.
• Business Partnering: Ensure strong rapport with the business leaders to constantly deliver personalised and effective experiences to the employees.
• Compliance: Ensure HR policies and practices comply with local labour laws and regulations specific to the tech and manufacturing industry, collaborating with legal teams as necessary to mitigate risks.
• Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Coordinate with external partners to facilitate payroll operations when necessary.
• Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with the global Head of Talent Acquisition and oversee the recruitment and selection processes to attract top talent in the tech and manufacturing sectors, fostering diversity and inclusion. Develop partnerships with local educational institutions and industry networks.
• Employee Relations: Cultivate a positive and inclusive work culture, promoting employee engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Address employee concerns and facilitate conflict resolution as needed.
• Performance Management: Adopt effective performance management processes and systems from the global framework, including goal setting, feedback, and development plans to drive high performance and innovation.
• Compensation and Benefits: Lead the design and management of competitive compensation and benefits packages tailored to the tech and manufacturing workforce in India.
• Learning and Development: Adopt, develop and oversee training and development programs that enhance soft and technical skills, supporting career growth and succession planning.
• Change Management: Lead HR initiatives related to organisational changes, ensuring optimal adoption for employees.
• HR Metrics and Reporting: Establish key HR metrics and reporting mechanisms to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and inform decision-making.
• Budget Management: Manage the HR budget for India, optimising resource allocation to support HR initiatives.
Qualifications & Key Traits
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience as an HR leader in global organisations within the tech and manufacturing sectors, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of local labour laws and regulations relevant to tech and manufacturing in India.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to align HR initiatives with business objectives.
• Demonstrated success in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and change management.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• HR certification (e.g., SHRM, HRCI) is desirable.
• Experience in fast-growing scale-up organisations is a plus.
