THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking to recruit an experienced senior hands on operations leader to lead and scale our EV Operations across Australia and New Zealand. This role is a critical leadership hire for the ANZ portfolio and will combine direct operational ownership and regional leadership including building out a team as the asset base grows.

The Head of Operations (ANZ) will be responsible for the day-to-day operational performance of EV assets, while also laying the foundations for a scalable local operating model. This includes building strong relationships with external partners, OEMs, utilities, subcontractors, and customers, and progressively recruiting and developing the ANZ operations team.

Working closely with the Director of Asset Management and ANZ Country Director, the role will shape how Zenobē operates EV assets in the ANZ market, from early project mobilisation through to steady state operations and long-term asset optimisation. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in an evolving environment, making pragmatic decisions, and balancing immediate delivery with long term capability building.


A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY

This is a leading and doing role. In the early stages, the Head of Operations (ANZ) will be deeply involved in hands on operational execution. As the portfolio expands, the focus will progressively shift toward team leadership, partner management, and operational governance, while retaining accountability for outcomes.

Own the operational performance of Zenobē’s EV assets across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring targets for safety, availability, cost, and customer experience are met.

Act as the primary escalation point for EV operations in the region.

Establish and refine operational processes, systems, and reporting to support a growing portfolio.

Ensure an effective 24/7 issue detection, escalation, and resolution framework is in place, working closely with theHead of Account Management and Support and external service providers.

Build and manage strong working relationships with OEMs, EPCs, O&M contractors, utilities, software providers, and customers.

Lead the selection, onboarding, and ongoing performance management of subcontractors and service partners.

Deliver cost optimisation and resilience through strategic partnerships.

Work closely with customer stakeholders to understand operational requirements, address pain points, and continuously improve service delivery.

Represent Zenobē in operational discussions with external partners and industry stakeholders across ANZ.

Support Business Development and Procurement activities during feasibility and bidding, ensuring operational assumptions are robust, deliverable, and commercially sound.

Provide operational input into subcontracting strategies, cost models, and programme assumptions.

Support the Delivery team during asset creation, commissioning, and handover, ensuring a smooth transition into operations.

Influence OEM and technology selection based on operational performance, maintainability, and whole-of-life considerations.

Champion a strong safety first culture, working closely with the HSSE team to ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand regulatory requirements.

Initially operate in a hands on capacity, while designing the future state ANZ operating model. Build a high performing team aligned to Zenobe’s culture in line with ANZ portfolio growth.

Work closely with Zenobē’s Product and Software teams to inform system design, monitoring tools, and future software enhancements.

Partner with the Product Management and Engineering Team to develop insightful performance reporting, automated alerting, and data driven decision making.

Use operational data to identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities across the portfolio.

Contribute to the operational governance and standard operating procedures to continuously improve and evaluate effectiveness.

Suggest strategic and operational improvement initiatives to present to Senior Leadership team.

Drive global standardisation of operational processes and contracts.

Embed a customer first approach across all EV operations, ensuring customer service outcomes, service quality and long-term partnerships are at the heart of operational decision making.

Actively contribute to Zenobe's commitment to health and safety, wellbeing and sustainability by; integrating these principles into daily responsibilities, ensuring a safe and supportive work environment, promoting both the physical and mental health of self and colleagues, and adopting sustainable and energy-efficient practices to minimize environmental impact. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a senior operations professional with experience in EVs, energy, infrastructure, or adjacent asset heavy or customer facing sectors, ideally within or transferable to the ANZ market. You will be equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves and leading others, with the credibility to work with senior internal stakeholders and external partners.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:

Proven experience in a senior, hands-on operations role within EVs, energy, infrastructure, or a related sector

Strong technical understanding of EV charging, batteries, and monitoring/control systems

Demonstrated ability to build and scale teams as portfolios grow

Experience managing external partners and subcontractors

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Pragmatic, delivery-focused, and comfortable operating with ambiguity

Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing demands

Track record of operational excellence and customer satisfaction

Willingness to travel infrequently across Australia and New Zealand

A flexible approach to working in a global organisation, with occasional remote engagement with international teams across the UK, US, and EU as required.
