ABOUT THE SCHOOL
In the 60s and 70s, many American families were living in the city. Still, the local schools did not offer a North American model of instruction. The idea of sending their children to a boarding school did not appeal to Eloise R. Bennett and her family (the founders of BIS). They decided to open their own school in a garage on Millers Road, known as the American Community School and later as Bangalore International School.
Today, Bangalore International School is an institution where global education is seamlessly integrated with positive social values and creative freedom that equips every student with the necessary life skills.

The Head of the School will ensure
• Educational and leadership excellence
• Smooth and efficient running of the school
• Attainment of the school’s vision.
Specific Responsibilities
• Curriculum
• Pastoral Care
• Standards of Teaching, Learning, and Child Care Practices
• Appraisal, Training, and Development of Staff
• Finances and Resources
• Safety of staff and students
• School Administration
Education & experience required:
• The candidate should have a minimum teaching experience of 15 years in an international school that follows an international curriculum.
• The candidate should have held a leadership position for at least 4 or more years and have strong leadership qualities, mentoring skills & in-depth knowledge.
• Candidate should have a Master’s degree.
• A teaching qualification is mandatory.
• Knowledge and experience in the CAIE/IB curriculum.
• The candidate must exhibit a team player attitude
