Job Description

As the Head of Strategy in the Life Insurance division, you will be a key architect in shaping the strategic vision and direction of TAL’s portfolio of businesses. This role is pivotal in driving growth, ensuring competitiveness, and fostering innovation within a dynamic and evolving industry. You will be responsible for formulating, communicating, and executing comprehensive strategies that align with organisational goals, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.

In this role you will:

Lead the development and implementation of the corporate strategy for the life insurance business,
aligning with the overall organizational goals and objectives.
Identify and evaluate potential business partnerships, alliances, and acquisition opportunities to
enhance the company's position in the life insurance market.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's interests.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry innovations to identify opportunities for digital
transformation within the life insurance sector.
Drive initiatives to integrate cutting-edge technologies and data analytics into business processes to
enhance efficiency and customer experience including utilising our Corporate Venture Capital Fund
(CVC)
Oversee financial modelling and analysis to evaluate the performance of life insurance products and
initiatives.
Present strategic recommendations to the executive team and board of directors.

Qualifications
Relevant academic qualifications, e.g. a university degree, professional qualification; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Strategic thinker with a forward-looking approach with a proven ability to develop and communicate compelling strategic narratives
Strong commercial acumen and an intuitive understanding of value drivers in a life insurance business (e.g. lapse rates, claims experience, reinsurance structures, embedded value).
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
