Head or Stress testing is responsible for Leading the stress testing function within Group Treasury for AMP Bank and AMP Group and is a highly senior and critical role, essential for maintaining financial stability.

This position involves overseeing the Bank’s ICAAP, group-wide capital and liquidity stress testing, and AMP Bank’s liquidity and market risk stress testing. By managing these processes, the leader ensures the bank can withstand financial shocks and maintain strong capital and liquidity positions.

Additionally, this senior role is responsible for establishing policies and governance processes, managing the stress testing team, and embedding stress testing into the group’s culture. Supporting the stress testing committee and board risk committee is also a key part of the role, helping to safeguard the bank’s financial health and support informed decision-making at the highest levels of the organisation.

How you will make an impact

Lead AMP’s production of key stress testing methodologies by

Managing the creation, iteration, and documentation of stress testing narratives, scenarios, and assumptions.
Overseeing the liquidity forecasting process under daily stress scenarios to ensure compliance with Risk Appetite Statements.
Maintaining stress testing documentation to ensure all aspects of liquidity stress testing and mitigating actions are appropriate.
Driving regular and ad-hoc stress testing, including approach and results papers.
Supporting embedding stress testing results within the Liquidity Risk Management Framework, Capital Management, and other aspects of financial resilience and recovery, including the Contingency Funding Plan.
What you will bring to the role

Ideally at least 7-10 years in a financial institution.
Degree in Mathematics, Econometrics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or Commerce.
Proven track record in liquidity stress testing at an ADI or demonstrated statistical modelling experience would be highly regarded
Postgraduate studies such as CFA, Masters in Applied Finance, Chartered Accountant, etc. would be highly regarded
Proficiency in using treasury and/or risk management systems for liquidity stress testing (e.g., Moody’s ALM, Kameruka, QRM).
In this senior role, the successful candidate will demonstrate a robust ability to conduct comprehensive financial modelling and balance sheet analysis, underpinned by a deep understanding of financial concepts. They will be adept at communicating and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly in the context of liquidity stress testing outcomes.

The role demands a critical eye for continuous improvement, effective communication of financial concepts, and strong problem-solving skills.

Furthermore, the candidate will be responsible for effectively communicating and delivering insights derived from their work to senior executives, ensuring that these insights drive strategic decision-making. A dedicated commitment to enhancing the Group and subsidiary capital and liquidity positions is essential, reflecting a proactive approach to financial stability and growth.
