Is inviting applicants for the following position:
Head Teacher
TLK Youth College, a division of Tuggerah Lakes Community College Limited, is a registered and accredited non-government, non-political or religious school, specifically designed for the inclusion of young people who have been unable to complete their studies in conventional high schools.
The school caters for students from Year + – Year 12, using a proven and successful model for young people on the Central Coast. A key difference lies in the adult education setting, where the school encourages learning, freedom of thought, independence, mutual respect and responsibility.
TLK Youth College is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic and proactive qualified teacher who is willing to undertake leading whole school initiatives, curriculum and wellbeing matters, five (5) days per week (1.0FTE), commencing at the beginning of Term 1, 2026.

Applicants must satisfy Child Protection Legislation, hold a current Working with Children number and will be subject to a Working with Children Check.
Key responsibilities of Job role, will include but are not limited to:
Leads and mentors teachers, modelling excellent teaching practice, providing advice and
facilitating direction, on teaching and learning strategies, along with minor disciplinary matters.
Participates in developing, implementing and reviewing school policies, programs and
operations.
Provides support for staff working with students with/exhibiting social/emotional/behavioral
issues.
Works with staff, families and other agencies in the area of student wellbeing to address
student needs.
Liaises with colleagues and parents/guardians/carers in a timely manner concerning individual
students complying with professional guidelines and confidentiality, putting the best interests
and safety of the student first at all times.
Interested applicants will ideally have the following:
Experience in leading and developing a teaching team.
Capacity to plan and deliver engaging lessons that integrate quality teaching and maximise
learning outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.
Knowledge and acceptance of the culture and nature of youth, with the ability to develop
effective working relationships, including with external agencies.
Experience working with disadvantaged and at risk young people/adolescents.
Evidence of effective support and intervention measures with issues such as bullying and
social problems and general pastoral care.
