Position Information
Sir Joseph Banks High School is a comprehensive high school with a current enrolment of 931 mainstream students and a Support Unit of 72 students catering for 3 Intellectually Mild and 2 Intellectually Moderate and 2 Autism classes. We are a vibrant and proudly inclusive, multicultural learning community (84% NESB), with 29 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island students, who have built a strong learning culture of Excellence, Innovation, Opportunity and Success. Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Demonstrated ability to initiate, implement and oversee whole school administration roles including daily organisation of staff cover, variations to routine, employment of casuals and the development and implementation of rosters and schedules.
2. A visible leader with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to operate effectively across the school through outstanding organisational and high-quality relationship building.
3. Demonstrated evidence of high-quality organisational skills and the ability to support equitable resourcing to support teaching and learning at an administrative level in applications such as Edval, Edval Daily, NESA Schools Online, School Bytes, and Sentral

General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
