Shirley Parsons have an exciting new opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join a highly successful and growing commercial construction business. Priding themselves on their core values, this organisation is passionate about their people and your ongoing development.
Forming part of the Regional Health and Safety team and reporting into the Regional HSE Manager, you will be focused on a high-profile project in West Auckland. Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, you will provide technical safety expertise for the entire life cycle of this project. There is also a significant client facing component to the role, your ability to provide robust and accurate reporting is essential. Additionally, your ability to build lasting and effective working partnerships is key to your success.
Key responsibilities:
Drive and encourage a safety culture of engagement and collaboration
Maintain internal systems and processes
Visit and audit sites, supporting the team to achieve positive safety outcomes
Develop and maintain key relationships with the client, sub-contractors and relevant partners
Demonstrate autonomy, self-sufficiency, and resilience in a dynamic construction environment
Work closely with the Auckland H&S team
The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:
3+ years’ experience in a Health and Safety, ideally in a relevant construction or high risk industry
Candidates with 1-2 years Health and Safety experience, working in the construction sector, will also be considered
Excellent communications skills with the ability to influence and engage
Strong working knowledge of construction
Confidence to be customer focused and able to prioritise a diverse workload
Resilience and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced construction setting
Full right to work in New Zealand already in place
