Job Description
Teach Health and Social Care at KS4, with potential to teach KS5 if applicable.
Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons aligned with the BTEC/GCSE specifications.
Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners and ensure progress.
Track, monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
Prepare students for both internal and external assessments with targeted revision and intervention.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes excellence and personal development.
Contribute to departmental planning, moderation, and curriculum development.
Liaise with parents/carers and pastoral teams regarding student progress or concerns.
Promote careers in health, social care, and public services as part of the PSHE and wider school curriculum.
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (e.g., PGCE).
A relevant degree in Health and Social Care or related subject.
Experience teaching Health and Social Care in a secondary school environment.
Knowledge of the BTEC/GCSE curriculum and assessment frameworks.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
