Podar International School, Daund, is seeking a compassionate and qualified professional to serve as a Health and Wellness cum Special Educator. The ideal candidate will support students' mental health and emotional well-being while also providing inclusive education for students with special learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Wellness:
• Conduct regular counseling sessions for students to support their emotional, social, and psychological well-being.
• Address issues such as stress, peer pressure, anxiety, behavioral challenges, and self-esteem.
• Organize workshops, awareness programs, and group sessions on mental health and wellness topics.
• Work closely with teachers and parents to create a supportive environment for students.
Special Education
• Identify and assess students with learning difficulties or special education needs.
• Design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique learning requirements.
• Support classroom teachers in modifying lesson plans and teaching strategies for inclusive education.
• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction and interventions.
• Maintain proper documentation and progress reports for students with special needs.
Collaboration
• Liaise with school leadership, academic staff, and external professionals as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their childs needs and progress.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and student review processes.
Qualifications And Requirements
• Masters/Bachelors degree in Psychology, Counseling, Special Education, or a related field.
• Certification or diploma in Special Education (RCI registered preferred).
• 25 years of experience in school counseling and/or special education.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and show empathy and patience.
• Fluent in English and familiar with CBSE/ICSE/State Board frameworks for inclusive education.
